I recently learned a new term: Early Childhood Education.
Back when the old Walrus was a pup, Mom stayed home and took care of things. She made us breakfast, got us off to school, she was there when we came home.
That was a few years back.
Today, for children to be successful in kindergarten and into their early grades, they need to have a (1) A well educated, stay at home Mom; or (2) Nanny, or (3) Quality Early Childhood Education.
Clearly, most children would vote for # 1, but children don’t get to vote on this one.
And, if children are born into a family where a stay at home Mom or a Nanny just isn’t economically feasible, then Quality Early Childhood Education is our only hope.
